Welcome to The Pump House Surgery

The Pump House Surgery is a much loved rural practice having been established in the village over 200 years ago.  We are a four-partner GMS rural practice working from modern purpose built facilities.  We cover the village of Earls Colne and surrounding areas.  We have a full complement of dispensary, nursing and administrative staff. The surgery is a pleasing environment, having been sympathetically converted from a former steel foundry 10 years ago.  The rooms are spacious and well equipped.

To continually improve the services offered to patients within the Mid Essex area, Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group have arranged monthly training sessions for all GPs and practice staff.  The surgery (including the dispensary) will be closed from 12.00pm until 8.00am the next day on the following dates:

Tuesday 14th May 2019

Wednesday 12th June 2019

Thursday 11th July 2019

Tuesday 13th August 2019

Wednesday 11th September 2019

Thursday 10th October 2019

Tuesday 12th November 2019

Wednesday 11th December 2019

Thursday 16th January 2020

If you should require urgent medical attention during this time, please contact NHS 111.  If the matter is life threatening, please dial 999 for urgent assistance.

Our Mission Statement

We aim to provide a comfortable and cheerful atmosphere for all of our patients and will always treat you with the utmost respect.

The Pump House Surgery is to use the funds allocated to them for Health Care to reduce morbidity and improve the quality of life for it patient population, by offering a caring medical service of the highest quality based on established professional standards that satisfies the needs of our patients and is provided by professionally competent, content and motivated staff.  We are committed to quality and innovation.

We are a very friendly practice and hope you will find us helpful with any of your medical requirements.

From April 2015 all practices are required to provide their patients with a named, accountable GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that the surgery provides to them.

As we have just under 8,000 registered patients, it would be an impossible task to inform you all individually by letter so, should you wish to know who your GP is, we ask that you please speak to our receptionists who will gladly give you this information.  Having a named GP does not prevent you from seeing any other GP in the practice at any time.

Should you wish to change your named GP in the future please contact us and arrangements can be made.  You do not need to take any further action, but if you have any questions, or wish to discuss this further, please speak to our reception staff.

Please note that all calls to the surgery are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
