Blood tests

We have phlebotomy clinics held every weekday morning by our HCA team. We use the current ICE system that enables us to request tests electronically.  All clinicians are able to request via this new system.

If you would like to request your test results, please use our online test results triage or telephone the surgery to check on laboratory test results any day between 10:00 and 17:00. Results of routine blood tests normally take about 1 week to come back. This is to ensure that you are given all results as some tests take longer to investigate at the laboratory and may not all be back in one batch.

We advise our patients to call the surgery to obtain results on 01787 222022.  It is the patients responsibility to follow up any test results as we will only call you if urgent action is required.

X-ray/Ultrasound scan results

The doctor will give you a form or refer to direct services which are Colchester General Hospital or Braintree Community Hospital. X-ray results can take up to 10 days to be reported on. Patients are advised to call surgery after 10 days following the x-ray appointment to ask for the outcome.

Ultrasound scan results may take up to a week to be actioned hence we advise patients to call after 1 week to obtain the outcome. We advise our patients to call the surgery to obtain results on 01787 222022.  It is the patients responsibility to follow up any test results as we will only call you if urgent action is required.

Prostate cancer

Patients who have concerns regarding prostate cancer, please telephone the surgery to book a routine telephone consultation with one of our doctors. We will ask you to leave current contactable telephone number for the doctor to call you back to discuss your concerns.
