Dr Spowage – Retirement

Our much-esteemed colleague and senior partner, Dr Spowage, is retiring after 31 years at the Pump House Surgery.

Dr Spowage joined the surgery in 1990 when the building was still in Queen Street. He took over as managing partner in 2005, the same year the surgery moved to its current location. Alongside the many changes in the NHS, general practice has had to adjust and reinvent itself time and again. The constant factor has been Dr Spowage’s clinical leadership in ensuring high standards of care, and his commitment to the people of Earls Colne and surrounds. The surgery was founded in 1812 and has been a much-valued institution in Earls Colne. Dr Spowage was committed in keeping it so.

I am pleased to say he is likely to remain active in an advisory and managerial role, for the foreseeable future continuing to serve as Medical Advisor to Provide and Clinical Director for the PCN.

He has our warm thanks for his tireless work and very best wishes for all that lies ahead.

I am pleased to say that the surgery has appointed Dr Mohammad Kabir as incoming full time partner.
